    Official Name Anthem
    Hear the name of the country Hear the name of the country. The common name of the country is Myanmar. The offical name is the Union of Myanmar (Pyidaungzu Myanma Naingngandaw). In 1989, the government changed the official English name from the Union of Burma to the Union of Myanmar (a derivative of the longtime Burmese-language name).
