Among Cameroonians, nodding up quickly and audibly taking in breath means “yes.” Shrugging means “no.” A marathon is run up and down Mount Cameroon (13,450 feet, or 4,100 meters) each year. Cameroonians make clicking sounds with the tongue to indicate agreement or astonishment.

The flag of Cameroon, most recently adopted on 20 May 1975, displays vertical bands in the pan-African colors: green, red, and yellow. Cameroon's previous flag had two stars; the one-star flag was adopted shortly after the country became unified.
