Red is in the center, white is above and beneath the red, and blue is on the top and bottom of the flag. Blue represents the sky. White represents clear thinking, happiness, wisdom, power, and the beauty of the sky. Red represents the warmth of the Costa Rican people, their love for life, their blood given for freedom, and their generous ways.
